O Antiphons Family Kit

The seven O Antiphons for December 17 to 23, with scripture, an evening prayer, cards and puzzles. A printable O Antiphons kit for the last week of Advent: Latin and English, the prophecy for each night, a tracker, cards and puzzles.

From December 17 to 23 the Church sings one O Antiphon each evening, calling Christ by a title from the prophets: Wisdom, Lord, Root of Jesse, Key of David, Dayspring, King of the Nations and Emmanuel. They are where the hymn O Come, O Come, Emmanuel comes from. This kit turns that week into a short family tradition after dinner.

Each antiphon is printed in Latin with a plain English rendering, a symbol, its Old Testament roots and one small thing to do or talk about at home. A second page prints the prophecy behind each night in the words of the Douay-Rheims Bible, and an evening order walks you through ten minutes of prayer with the Magnificat and the Glory Be.

A seven-night tracker, eight cut-apart cards for the nativity set or the Advent wreath, a word search and a title-to-symbol matching game keep children involved, with an answer key at the back. The same two antiphon pages are part of our Advent to Epiphany Catholic Home Bundle.

Print the kit before December 17 and cut out the cards. Each evening light a candle, read that night's antiphon and verse, pray the Magnificat, and check off the night on the tracker.
