Catholic Advent Scripture Countdown

Nativity story scripture cards, Douay-Rheims, December 1 to 24. Advent scripture cards for Catholic families: 24 Douay-Rheims readings that tell the nativity story, one a night, with a question and a prayer.

Read the Christmas story one night at a time. These 24 cut-apart Advent scripture cards follow the nativity story in order, from God's first promise in Genesis through the prophets, the Annunciation, the Visitation, Joseph's dream and the road to Bethlehem, to the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve.

Each card has a short passage from the Douay-Rheims Bible, its reference, a question for the family to talk about and a one-line prayer. Sundays of Advent and feast days for 2026 are marked, including the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Four more cards carry you through Christmas Day, Mary Mother of God, Epiphany and the Baptism of the Lord.

A one-page tracker goes on the fridge so everyone can tick off each night, and four blank cards let you add your own verse or intention. It takes about five minutes a night.

Your files are ready to download right after checkout, and we email you the link.

How to use it

Print the card pages, on card stock if you have it, and cut along the dashed lines. Each night from December 1, light a candle, read the day's card aloud, talk about the question and pray the short prayer together.
