Custom Table Cover Sizes: 6 ft vs 8 ft, Fitted, Stretch or Throw

Pick the right custom table cover: 4, 5, 6 and 8 ft sizes explained, fitted vs spandex vs throw styles, where to put your logo, and how to measure your table.

By JLD Designs Co.··5 min read

The most common custom table cover sizes are 6 ft, which fits a standard 72 x 30 in folding table, and 8 ft, for a 96 x 30 in table. We make covers in 4, 5, 6 and 8 ft sizes, in fitted, spandex, loose throw and runner styles. The two choices that matter are size (it has to fit your table) and style (how it drapes). Get both right and a plain folding table becomes a branded counter that hides your boxes and puts your logo at eye level.

Table cover sizes: measure your table first

Most event tables are standard sizes, but measure yours to be sure. You need the length and width of the tabletop.

Cover size Fits a table that’s
4 ft 48 x 24 in
5 ft 60 x 30 in
6 ft 72 x 30 in
8 ft 96 x 30 in

6 ft is the most common for markets, fairs and expos, and it fits comfortably in a 10 x 10 ft booth with room to stand behind it. An 8 ft table works well as a long front counter in a 10x15 or 10x20 booth.

Check the height too. Most folding tables are about 29 to 30 in tall. If yours is a bar-height or counter-height table, mention it in your quote so the drop is right.

If the event provides tables, ask what size they are before you order. A cover made for a 6 ft table won’t fit an 8 ft table, and one made for an 8 ft table will pool and sag on a 6 ft.

Fitted, spandex or throw?

Fitted

Box corners and a straight, neat drop to the floor on all four sides. It looks tailored, like a custom counter.

  • Best for: trade shows, markets and any setup where you want a crisp, professional look.
  • Tip: the most popular choice for branded tables.

Spandex (stretch)

Stretch fabric that hugs the tabletop and legs for a sleek, modern look with no wrinkles.

  • Best for: modern brands, indoor events, and setups where you don’t need to store anything under the table.
  • Keep in mind: because it hugs the legs, you can see the shape of the table and anything under it.

Loose throw

The classic draped tablecloth with soft folds at the corners.

  • Best for: relaxed, traditional looks, and when you want easy access underneath from the back.

Table runner

A printed strip down the middle of the table, usually over a solid cloth. It’s a budget-friendly way to add branding to a table you already cover.

Getting to stock under the table

Covers that drop to the floor on all four sides look the cleanest from every angle, which matters on corner booths and at events where people walk all the way around. If you’ll be grabbing stock from under the table all day, think about access before you pick a style:

Style Under-table storage Getting to it
Fitted Fully hidden Lift the back panel
Loose throw Fully hidden Easiest; the back drapes loosely
Spandex Shows table shape Awkward; it hugs the legs
Runner Not hidden on its own Pair with a solid cloth

If you have a question about a specific setup, add it to your quote request.

The front panel is prime real estate. People see it from across the aisle and in every photo of your booth.

  • Center your logo on the front panel, high enough that it isn’t hidden by products on the table or the people standing at it.
  • Keep it simple: logo plus one short line (what you sell or your website) reads best.
  • Use your brand colors as the base color so the whole table feels like part of your booth.
  • Add the sides if you’re on a corner or at an event where people approach from more than one direction.

Pair your table cover with a printed back wall and a flag and your booth looks like a set. See our custom canopy buyer’s guide and flag comparison.

Care tips

  • Fold along the same lines each time, or roll it to avoid creases.
  • Steam or tumble on low to release wrinkles, and follow any care instructions provided with your cover.
  • Keep it in a bag between events so it stays clean.

FAQ

What size table cover fits a standard folding table?

The most common folding table is 6 ft (72 x 30 in), so a 6 ft cover. Measure yours to be sure.

Fitted or stretch: which looks more professional?

Both look sharp. Fitted gives a tailored, boxy look with a straight drop; spandex hugs the table for a sleek, modern look.

Can I store things under a custom table cover?

Yes, with a fitted or throw cover that drops to the floor. Spandex hugs the legs, so it hides less.

Can I get a table cover by itself without a booth?

Yes. You can order table covers on their own, or as part of a booth bundle.
