Which Pop-Up Canopy Size Fits Your Events?
Pop-up canopy sizes from 5x5 to 10x20 ft, steel vs aluminum frames, and what fits a market table, food booth or double booth, so you order once.
Picking a pop-up canopy size comes down to two questions: how much space your events give you, and what has to fit under the roof. A 10x10 matches the standard vendor space almost everywhere. A 5x5 squeezes into sampling spots and crowded sidewalks. A 10x15 or 10x20 gives a food booth or a big team room to work. Here’s how to match the size and frame to the events you actually do, so you buy the right tent once.
The four sizes at a glance
Our custom canopy tents come in four footprints. Every one has a full-color printed top with your logo, a frame and a carrying bag, and you can add printed back walls and half walls.
| Size | Frame choices | Fits | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 x 5 ft | Steel | One small table or a demo stand | Sampling, sidewalk sales, tight indoor spots |
| 10 x 10 ft | Steel, aluminum or heavy-duty aluminum | One 6 or 8 ft table with room to stand behind it | Markets, fairs, expos, almost every vendor space |
| 10 x 15 ft | Aluminum | Two tables in an L, or one table plus a display wall | Bigger product lines, registration areas, small food setups |
| 10 x 20 ft | Aluminum | Two 10x10 spaces: tables, equipment and a walkway | Food booths, double booths, teams and sponsors |
What fits a market table
Most markets and craft fairs sell 10 x 10 ft spaces, and a 10x10 canopy fills one exactly. Inside it you can fit a 6 ft or 8 ft table across the front, a chair, bins under the table and room to stand and talk. Add a fitted table cover and a printed back wall, and the booth reads as one brand from the aisle.
A 5x5 is the right call when the event gives you less: sampling tables, a sidewalk sale outside a store, a school fair that packs vendors shoulder to shoulder, or an indoor market with low ceilings. It holds one small table or a demo stand with you behind it. Our Market Starter in the vendor booth packages pairs a 5x5 tent with a printed back wall for exactly these spots.
If you’re torn between 5x5 and 10x10, buy the 10x10. You can always leave a wall off or set up in half the space, and most of your events will give you the full ten feet.
What fits a food booth
Food vendors need room for a serving table at the front, prep behind it, coolers or warmers, and a path for the person running orders. That’s more than a 10x10 handles comfortably once two people are inside.
- 10 x 15 ft fits a serving table at the front and a prep table along one side, with equipment behind. It’s a good step up when your event still measures spaces in 10 ft widths and you can take one and a half.
- 10 x 20 ft is the real food-booth size. The front half holds the serving line and menu signs, the back half holds prep and storage, and a 10x20 has six legs, so the middle of the long side stays supported.
Check your health department and event rules before you order. Many require a roof over every food prep area, some require side walls on three sides, and a few limit how close cooking can be to fabric. Our printed walls go on the back and both sides, and our guide to canopy sidewalls covers which walls to order.
What fits a double booth
When you buy two adjacent 10x10 spaces, you have two choices: two 10x10 tents side by side, or one 10x20.
One 10x20 looks like one brand and gives you a continuous 20 ft back wall for your logo, with no gap and no mismatched legs in the middle. It takes two people to set up and is heavier to carry, but it’s one bag and one frame.
Two 10x10 tents are easier to carry and split between two cars or two events on the same weekend. They also fit single spaces when you only get one. The trade-off is a seam down the middle and two sets of legs where the tents meet.
If you do double booths at most of your events, go 10x20. If double booths are the exception, two 10x10s are more flexible. Either way, a feather flag at each front corner marks the full width of your space from down the aisle.
Steel vs aluminum frames
The frame matters as much as the size, because it decides how heavy the tent is to carry and how it handles a season of setups.
Steel is sturdy and the lowest price. It’s the only frame on the 5x5 and a solid choice for a 10x10 that lives in one place or comes out a few times a year. It’s heavier to carry, so it’s happiest when the car parks close to the booth.
Aluminum is lighter to lift and quicker to set up, which you’ll notice every single weekend. It’s the frame on every 10x15 and 10x20, and the step-up choice on a 10x10 for anyone who sets up often or sets up alone.
Heavy-duty aluminum is our strongest frame, with a lifetime hardware warranty. It’s for the 10x10 that goes up every weekend, year round, in wind and sun. Weekly market vendors, food trucks that set up a prep tent at every stop, and teams that hand the tent around should start here. Our post on canopy frame strength goes deeper.

Already have a frame?
If you own one of our frames, you can order a replacement printed top on its own, or just walls, in the same builder. Choose No frame and pick the frame it’s for, and your new top ships without a second frame you don’t need.

FAQ
What size canopy do most vendors need?
A 10 x 10 ft canopy. It matches the standard vendor space, holds a table with room to stand behind it, and has the most frame choices.
Is a 5x5 canopy big enough for a table?
For one small table or a demo stand, yes. If you’ll have a full 6 ft table and a helper, you’ll want a 10x10.
What size canopy does a food booth need?
A 10 x 20 ft canopy fits a serving line in front and prep in back. A 10 x 15 ft works when you need a little more than a 10x10 but can’t take a full double space. Check your event and health department rules for walls and clearances.
Should I buy one 10x20 or two 10x10 tents?
One 10x20 for a double booth you set up often: it looks like one brand and has no seam. Two 10x10 tents if you sometimes get single spaces or split events between people.
Steel or aluminum frame?
Steel for the lowest price and occasional use. Aluminum if you set up often or carry the tent alone. Heavy-duty aluminum, with a lifetime hardware warranty, for every-weekend vendors.
