Brewery Festival Booth Ideas for Beer, Wine and Cider Tastings

Brewery festival booth ideas for breweries, wineries and cideries: canopy size, pour station layout, table covers, flags, shade and merch for tastings.

By JLD Designs Co.··5 min read

At a beer, wine or cider festival, dozens of booths pour side by side, and guests choose where to line up in a few seconds. A strong brewery festival booth makes your name readable from down the row, keeps the pour line moving, and looks like your taproom or tasting room set up outdoors. Here’s how to set one up, from the canopy to the merch table.

Start with the space and the event rules

Before you design anything, read the vendor packet closely.

  • Space size. Many festivals sell 10 x 10 ft spaces, with larger spaces for high-volume pourers. A tent bigger than your space usually won’t be allowed, so confirm before you order.
  • Weights. Many events require weights on every canopy leg, sometimes with a minimum per leg.
  • Serving rules. Pour sizes, ID checks, wristbands and who can serve are set by the event and by local and state law. Follow the event’s rules and your local requirements; this guide covers how your booth looks, not legal questions.

If you pour at a mix of events, buy for the space you’ll use most. Our canopy size comparison walks through 10x10, 10x15 and 10x20.

The canopy: your name, readable from down the row

Your canopy is your sign. Guests often scan the festival grounds looking for names they know or a logo that catches their eye.

  • Put your name on the valance. The front edge of the canopy is the first thing people see from the line. Keep it to your name and maybe one word, like “Brewing” or “Winery.”
  • Use the back wall as a billboard. A full printed back wall with your logo frames your pourers and blocks the clutter behind you.
  • Consider a 10x20 for big pours. If the event allows a double space, a wider canopy fits two pour stations and a longer line.
  • Pick a sturdier frame if you do many events. Our canopy booth builder offers steel, aluminum and heavy-duty aluminum frames. An aluminum or heavy-duty aluminum frame is a smart upgrade for frequent use or larger sizes.
  • Choose the print that lasts. Full-color dye-sublimation is bonded into the fabric, so it holds up to repeated outdoor use and sun.

Build a pour station that looks like a bar

The table is where guests spend their time at your booth, so make it look intentional.

  • Cover the table. A fitted or loose throw table cover with your logo hides coolers, kegs, boxes and cords underneath. Covers come in 6 and 8 ft sizes; measure your tables first.
  • Show the pour list. Put the day’s lineup on a sign guests can read while they wait in line, so they’re ready when they reach the front.
  • Keep the front open and clean. Pour from behind the table, keep spare product and ice at the back or sides, and wipe the surface often.
  • Separate merch. If you sell shirts or hats, a second small table at the side keeps the pour line from stalling.

Booth checklist at a glance

Booth element What it does
Printed canopy and valance Tells guests who you are from down the row
Full back wall Frames your pourers and hides clutter
Logo table cover Hides coolers and supplies; turns a table into a bar
Pour list sign Speeds up the line
Flag Helps people find you on a crowded festival field
Matching staff shirts Makes pourers easy to identify
Weights on every leg Keeps the canopy safe in gusts

Flags that help people find you

At a large festival, guests often agree to “meet at your booth.” A flag above the canopy line makes that easy. A 12 to 14 ft feather or teardrop flag at your front corner rises above the canopies around you. Teardrop flags hold their shape on still days; feather flags move in light breezes. Use a spike base on grass and an X-base with a water bag on pavement, and bring flags in during storms.

Heat, sun and shade

Festivals run in every season, and in warm-climate states like Texas, Florida, Arizona and California, many happen in full sun. Shade protects your product, your staff and your guests.

  • Pick lighter colors for the canopy roof if you can; they stay cooler than dark fabric.
  • Add half walls on the sunny side to shade the pour station without closing off the booth.
  • Plan plenty of ice and keep coolers out of direct sun.
  • Keep staff hydrated with water and breaks.
  • Watch the weather. Along the Gulf Coast, summer afternoon thunderstorms are common. Weight every leg and take the canopy down in high wind.

Merch and staff gear that travels home

Shirts and hats with your logo do double duty: they make staff easy to find, and guests who buy them keep advertising long after the festival. Embroidered hats look clean and last; printed tees handle bold, full-color art. Soft PVC keychains with your logo are an easy add-on at the merch table.

Order early. Booths take about 1 to 2 weeks after you approve your final design and pay, table covers about 1 week, flags about 1 week, and apparel about 1 to 2 weeks. We confirm your price within 3 business days, with free shipping to the lower 48 states and DC.

FAQ

What size tent do I need for a beer or wine festival?

Many festivals sell 10 x 10 ft spaces. If you pour high volume and the event offers a double space, a 10x20 fits two stations.

How do I hide coolers and kegs at my booth?

Use a fitted or loose throw table cover that reaches the ground on the front and sides. It hides everything under the table and puts your logo front and center.

Do I need weights for my canopy at a festival?

Plan on it. Many events require weights on every leg, and it keeps everyone safe in gusts. Check your vendor packet for the minimum.

Can you advise on alcohol serving rules?

No. Serving rules come from the event and from local and state law, so follow those. We help with how your booth looks.
